Franklin County Dog Shelter has participated in Rescue Waggin', a rescue devoted to reducing pet overpopulation. It was created by PetSmart Charities to help save the lives of many homeless dogs and puppies with the cooperation and partnership of local animal agencies.

Rescue Waggin' transports dogs from areas of high overpopulation like the midwest to shelters in areas where adoptable dogs are in demand. More than 30,000 dogs and puppies have been transported by the Rescue Waggin vehicles as of October 2009.

So far our shelter has sent 22 dogs to the Wisconsin Humane Society in Madison, WI where the dogs are generally adopted within three to five days! :)
