Volunteering At The Shelter

A large part of The Franklin County Dog Shelter’s success in placing adoptable dogs comes from the dedicated efforts of our wonderful volunteers!

We are always looking for volunteers to assist with activities such as: Dog Walking--Imagine how many people it takes to make sure every dog gets an opportunity for some fresh air, sunshine and a walk each day!

And many other important tasks:

  • Assisting with photos for the website
  • Adoption Counselor
  • Experienced volunteers for evening playgroups
  • Bathing and Grooming Dogs
  • Kong Toy Peanut Butter Stuffers
  • Assisting Veterinary Technicians in our clinic
  • Fostering dogs and puppies
  • Special Events Volunteers at offsite adoption events
  • Picking up donations for the shelter
  • Customer Service/Lobby Greeter

If you are interested in donating some of your time to the Franklin County Dog Shelter, please call Lou at (614) 525-7282 for more information.   Please note, our mimimum age to volunteer at the shelter is 14 or older!
