Dr. Diane Ott, DVM is a graduate of The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She has spent her entire life
around animals, especially dogs and has been involved in some aspect of dog training since 1997 when dog behavior became a
major interest of hers. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and the American Veterinary Society of Animal
Behavior. She completed two externships during her time in veterinary school– one at the ASPCA in the Behavior Department
with Applied Animal Behaviorist, Pamela Reid and the second at the Purdue Animal Behavior Clinic under the direction of
Dr. Andrew Luescher. She has passed the certification examination for DOGS 2004: Principles and Techniques of Behavior
Modification and attended the DOGS and CATS course: Diagnosis and Treatment of Behavior Problems for the Veterinarian.
Since 1998, she has been actively involved in the rescue and re-homing of dogs in Central Ohio. As a result, she understands
the needs of the rescued dog and is a firm believer in positive training methods. She currently resides with her three Darling
Doberman Pinschers and one cat.
If she ever finds some free time to write her first book, she plans on dedicating it to her rescued dog, Ernie, the dog that
first sparked her interest in animal behavior. Until then, she devotes her time to enriching the lives of the dogs at the shelter
and assisting with behavioral problems that may arise post adoption as well as seeing patients in general practice at a local
animal hospital.
